Our mission is to fill our guests with awe through a truly unique experience that adds positive value to our local communities.

We do this through:

GUEST SERVICE

Providing exceptional service to our guests through attention, responsiveness and warm hospitality.

STEWARDSHIP

Ensuring all our activities are mindful of our responsibility as stewards of God’s creation.

SUPPORT OF THE LOCAL ECONOMY

Sourcing goods and services from local businesses as much as possible.

ENCOURAGEMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs through fostering an ecology of companies around the needs of Jaguar Creek.

SPIRITUALITY

Seeing all we do, from the big things to the small things, as the spiritual act of worship.

COMMITMENT TO BELIZE’S FUTURE

In addition to ensuring the children of our staff gain the benefits of an education, we donate the majority of our annual net profit to PathLight International, an innovative non-profit organization that is working with Belizean leadership to help change the lives of children, teachers and local communities in Belize.

WHY WE DO IT

Belize is a small country of great beauty and in the rural areas, a country of tremendous poverty. Likewise, many travelers who come to Belize bring with them poverties of their own. Into the intersection of these needs Jaguar Creek stands as a place where the Spirit of Christ creates a special place where people come to pray, learn and serve.

Jaguar Creek serves the country of Belize and international guests in three primary ways:

pray

As a sanctuary for local and international guests to experience quiet, peace and separation from the noise of modern life. Many also come for spiritual formation and to attend spiritual retreats.

learn

As an education center that hosts students of all ages and as a social enterprise that provides at-risk youth in Belize with vocational opportunities.

serve

As accommodations for short-term service teams and other guests that seek to authentically interact with, serve and learn from the people of Belize.

“Hospitality means primarily the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy.

Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.” – Henri Nouwen
